Old gym in Radvanice
Filmmakers looking for a sports environment might catch the eye of Sokolovna in Ostrava-Radvanice. Sokolovna has been standing here for over 100 years and inside there is a classical gymnasium, a dress room and a cellar. The building has been sensitively reconstructed from the outside.
Old cinema in Palkovice
The cinema in the village Palkovice, which is located at the foot of the Beskydy Mountains, was built in the 1970s. Almost everything in the cinema is preserved in its original state. The original film projector is also an interesting feature of this cinema. The cinema is still in operation, very widely used by the municipality for film projection or various theater performances and cultural events.
Čapkova Sokolovna (old gym)
Čapkova sokolovna in Ostrava: a gem with a First Republic atmosphere.
In Přívoz, Ostrava, stands the Čapkova sokolovna, a functionalist building from 1923, which embodies the elegance of the first republic and the rawness of an industrial environment. With cubist features and authentic interiors such as wood paneling and tall windows, the building offers visually engaging backdrops for historical, sports and drama films. The neglected genius loci creates a space for the tension between the nobility of gymnasium traditions and the ravages of time that are evident on the building. The contrast between the bright, airy gymnasium and the gloomy surroundings of Ostrava's streets gives the place a unique cinematic potential. Sokolovna is not only an architectural gem, but also a silent witness to a rich cultural history, waiting for new stories to be told in front of the camera.
