On 18–19 November 2025, the Moravian-Silesian Film Office had the opportunity to take part in the annual meeting organized by APA – the Association of Audiovisual Producers. The event took place at Zenwork Palác ARA in Prague and offered a valuable space for one-to-one meetings between producers, regional film offices, regional authorities and other key stakeholders in the audiovisual industry.

During the individual meetings, we learned about a wide range of new upcoming projects currently in development across the Czech Republic — and several of them are already considering filming in the Moravian-Silesian Region. This once again confirms the growing interest of filmmakers in our area and its diverse locations. We certainly have a lot to look forward to next year.

The programme also included a panel discussion dedicated to the series City of Blood, produced by The Walt Disney Company, which was filmed across several Czech regions. Hosted by Pavlína Žipková from the Czech Film Commission, the discussion featured producers Petr Růčka, Vladimír Cháb (FILM MAKERS) and art director Pavel Vojtíšek, who shared valuable insights into the production background of this large international project and highlighted the crucial role regions play in realising such extensive productions.

A Visit to Barrandov Studios: A Creative World of Sets, Costumes and Film Design

The second day of the programme was dedicated to a guided tour of Barrandov Studios, which proved to be exceptionally inspiring. We had the chance to explore set decorations, impressive interior builds, and extensive outdoor backlot areas, including both a historic city street and medieval-style exteriors.

We also visited the extensive Barrandov Costume and Props Fundus and got a behind-the-scenes look at the workshop known as the “štukatérie”, where architectural elements and decorative structures for film sets are crafted. The whole experience was truly memorable — a powerful reminder of how creative, dynamic and unique the film environment can be.
