The Moravian-Silesian Film Office and the Ostrava Kamera Oko Festival Explore the Vítkovice Industrial Area on a Location Tour

On November 14, the Moravian-Silesian Film Office, in cooperation with the Ostrava Kamera Oko film festival, organized another Location Tour for filmmakers, cinematographers, producers, and film students. This year, we visited one of Ostrava’s most striking locations – the Vítkovice Industrial Area, a place that never loses its charm thanks to its unique atmosphere and photogenic settings.

The program began with a walking route from the city center to the industrial site, allowing participants to experience the gradual transformation of the environment and connect urban life with the distinctive world of industrial heritage.

In Vítkovice, participants then took part in a guided tour of selected sites, including areas normally inaccessible to the public. A highlight of the tour was the ascent of Bolt Tower, offering breathtaking views that filmmakers and photographers instantly fell in love with. On the metal spiral staircase leading to the observation deck, participants had to carefully maintain their balance, making the panoramic view at the top even more rewarding.

During the tour, participants learned more about filming possibilities in various parts of the site, as well as the technical conditions and logistical aspects of shooting in an industrial environment. There was also plenty of opportunity to share experiences and network.
